• Dean has a life-long Passion for mountains, and has been climbing and skiing for over 30 years.
• More than 20 expeditions to over 6000m and 14 over 8000m
• IFMGA International Mountain and Ski Guide with 20 years of guiding within New Zealand and around the world.
• Dean Staples summited Mt. Everest nine times, and is the first New Zealander to summit Everest from both North and South sides.
• Filmed on five Everest expeditions.
• Climbed frozen waterfalls in Canada & big walls in Yosemite & Zion, USA, and climbed and Skiied from a yacht on the Antarctic Peninsula including a first accent.
• Heli-skied in India, Nepal, Canada and New Zealand.
• Continues to climb for personal as well as professional pleasure and adventure.
• Dean lives in Lake Hawea, near Wanaka , New Zealand with his partner Lydia.  In his spare time dean can be found riding his motorbike or trying to master his kite surfing, or simply being at home by the lake.
